Every Norwegian company, from the register.

Belda reads the Register of Legal Entities, the state's own list of companies, and never a bought database.

You type an industry code and a municipality. The agent reads the register, then each company's own site. The list comes back with a source under every row.

What the register holds

The Brønnøysund Register Centre publishes the Register of Legal Entities as open data, free of charge under the Norwegian licence for open government data, with no registration, an API anyone can call and a bulk file produced every night at about five. The register held 1,176,492 legal entities and 867,000 sub-entities when the machine asked its API on 2 October 2026. The register also publishes a company's officers with their roles for nothing.

What Belda reads

  • The industry code. The Norwegian standard of 2025, so a code you type finds every company registered under it.
  • The municipality. The register's own field, so a list is drawn by place.
  • The legal form, the registration date and the founding date. As the register states them.
  • The website. Where the company gave one, so the agent can read the company's own site next.
  • The number of employees. The register leaves it empty for a unit with 0 to 4 staff and says so with a second field; Belda shows the gap, never a guess.

What Belda never stores

  • A person's e-mail address or phone number from the register. The register publishes none for a person.
  • A person's name from the officers' list on a company that has not said yes.
  • A row that did not come from a list you asked for. Every row names its register and its read date, or it does not enter the list.

Three questions of every row

Where did it come from. When was it true. Who said I may write to it. The register answers the first two on every row. Norway's reservation register is for private persons, so a company carries no marketing flag and the market's rule does that work instead. After the register the agent reads the company's own site and marks fit with the sentence it found there and the page it was on.
