Every Finnish company, from the register.

Belda reads the Trade Register through the Patent and Registration Office's open data, the state's own list of companies, and never a bought database.

On the register
728,137 businesses, 309,714 of them limited companies, as the register stated it on 9 January 2026, read 2 October 2026. Source

You type an industry code and a municipality. The agent reads the register, then each company's own site. The list comes back with a source under every row.

What the register holds

The Patent and Registration Office publishes the register as open data, free, under a Creative Commons attribution licence, with no key and no stated quota, refreshed once a day. Its own statistics page stated 728,137 businesses in the Trade Register on 9 January 2026, 309,714 of them limited companies, when the machine read it on 2 October 2026. The register carries no head count, and its own page says e-mail addresses and phone numbers are not available.

What Belda reads

  • The industry code. The Finnish classification of 2008 in the open data; the statistics office moved to the 2025 classification in December 2025, and Belda's table translates between the two until the open data follows.
  • The municipality code. The register's own field, so a list is drawn by place.
  • The legal form and the registration date. As the register states them.
  • The website. Where the company gave one, so the agent can read the company's own site next.

What Belda never stores

  • A person's e-mail address or phone number. The register publishes none, and says so on its own page.
  • A personal identity code, or any field the register shows only to the company itself.
  • A row that did not come from a list you asked for. Every row names its register and its read date, or it does not enter the list.

Three questions of every row

Where did it come from. When was it true. Who said I may write to it. The register answers the first two on every row; Finland's register carries no marketing flag, so the market's rule does that work instead. After the register the agent reads the company's own site and marks fit with the sentence it found there and the page it was on.
